Hi. My name is Gindy and I am a 30-something coffee lover. Born and raised in Manila, I moved to the UK in 2012 to pursue my career in Nursing and am proudly working for the National Health Service.

However, this space is for my other growing passion – COFFEE! Living in London reignited my love and adoration for a good cup of coffee. I believe that coffee has influenced our lives more than we can imagine. I personally cannot start my day without having a cup. Yes, you may call that an addiction!

Coffee is more than just a drink, for some it’s a form of social gathering, a moment to catch up or just a way to relax and share stories here and there. For others, it’s a community, a culture and source of income and livelihood. For me it’s an experience.

Recently I have found myself hunting out speciality coffee shops and traditional coffeehouses (with historical value) wherever I am, whether in the UK, Europe or back home in the Philippines. I have been relying less on the chain brands you find adorning our high street and instead frequenting small, independent shops and ancient coffee boutiques that can provide unique, personal experiences. I look forward to seeing what each shop has to offer, cosiness, warm lighting, some rustic, some traditional, some grand and opulent, some fresh and new, some quirky, hip, minimalist the list goes on with each shop a representation of the vision of its owner and cultural heritage. A window into their personality and history manifesting itself as your surroundings. Ultimately, the coffee itself is king. The smell, the taste, the preparation and presentation each unique as the shops try to differentiate themselves from others and keep you coming back.

I’m in it for the whole experience. Coffee is everywhere, truly great coffee needs to be sought out and this is my journey. I want to explore them, get the full experience and have that perfect cup! Truly, this passion has me exploring new places and I want to share that with you. I hope you enjoy experiencing my journey with me!
